A meeting of all boards of Albania Interreligious Council was held on June 28, 2019.
In the framework of the Interreligious Council of Albania’s participation in the 10th Assembly of Religions for Peace, to be held this August in Lindau, Germany, a “National Consultation” among IRCA officials, the Presidency Council, the Executive Board, the Department of Women and the Department of Youth, was held in Tirana.
In the first session, the Executive Board assembled and Mrs. Sheldiana Jano, a member of this board, explained the five topics, which will be discussed in the Assembly. Later on, the participants discussed the topics in some workshop groups with representatives from different religious communities who came up with important recommendations and suggestions, which will be sent to the assembly on behalf of the Interreligious Council of Albania.
In the second plenary session, all IRCA boards and departments were assembled for the first time, and the working group rapporteurs discussed the recommendations and suggestions of June 20 and 27, 2019 meetings.
Then, in this session moderated by the Secretary General of the Interreligious Council of Albania, Dr. Genti Kruja, leaders of religious communities and members of the Presidency Council, made their speeches. The floor was initially given to the Chairman of the Interreligious Council of Albania, Prof. Dr. Anastasios, followed by other leaders, who emphasized the significance of interfaith dialogue, but also the spirit of dialogue in general in these days, when there is so much need for the model of dialogue, as a missing value in the political arena to the benefit of social peace.
At the end of this meeting, the first of its kind in our country, in which not only leaders of religious communities, but also representatives of women and the youth from all communities assembled, certificates of participation in this solemn meeting were delivered.
