The Interreligious Council of Albania was honored with Intercultural Achievement Recognition Award from the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria

The Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs has awarded the Interreligious Council of Albania with the Intercultural Achievement Recognition Award for assistance given to families in need in the earthquake zone, a project implemented last year by the Department of Youth in IRCA and realized with the support of Religions for Peace.

The award was given to the Secretary General of the Interreligious Council of Albania Dr. Genti Kruja and the Department of Youth of IRCA by the Ambassador of Austria in Tirana, H.E. Mr. Christian Steiner in a ceremony held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the residence of the Austrian Embassy in Tirana.

Ambassador, Mr. Steiner appreciated the work of Inter Religious Council and especially the voluntary engagement of youth in humanitarian and social activities developed in critical situations such as the period after the November 2019 earthquake and during the pandemic Covid 19.

On behalf of IRCA Mr. Kruja also thanked the Austrian Embassy for its continued support in promoting interfaith dialogue through various activities and conferences held between universities established by various religious communities in our country, as well as Ambassador Mr. Steiner for cooperation and organization of the award ceremony. The award of IRCA was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria Dr. Michael Linhart.
