On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, was held the first meeting of Executive Board of the Interreligious Council of Albania for this year, in the premises of the Muslim Community of Albania.
The Executive Board, which consists of two representatives from each religious community, part of IRCA, has been renewed with several new members due to the commitments and changes in duties of some of its former members. In the replacements made, the percentage of female representatives increased for the first time, bringing their number on the Board to 30%.
The youngest members of the Board are Mrs. Fatma Karaj, representative of Muslim Community of Albania, who was previously a member of the Women's Department at IRCA, Mr. Alesio Sema, who previously served as a member of the Youth Department at IRCA and Mrs. Ornela Pica, where both of them represent Evangelical Protestantism of Albania.
The Interreligious Council of Albania has also awarded a certificate of appreciation to the former members of the Executive Board, Mr. Agron Hoxha, Mr. Ergest Biti and Mr. Erjon Prendi, with the motivation “For the contribution given to strengthening the spirit of interreligious dialogue, as members of the Executive Board in the Interreligious Council of Albania”.
