Albania's Interreligious Council: Pain and Prayer for Sri Lanka

Albania's Interreligious Council expresses deep sorrow to over 300 people who lost their lives by some terrorist attacks on Easter morning, during prayers in two Catholic churches and one Evangelical church in three cities of Sri Lanka and in some tourist hotels.

We, as an institution on behalf of five religious communities in Albania (the Albanian Muslim Community, the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania, the Catholic Church of Albania, the Bektashi World Headquarters and the Evangelical Brotherhood of Albania), once again strongly condemn any form of terror, violence and extremism and we unite our prayers with the whole world, especially with believers of every faith, praying for peace and coexistence regardless of religion, colour and race.

In these moments of pain, we express the most sincere condolences to the family of the victims and ask the Lord to give healing to the wounded and the injured people.

God help and guide the world, especially those who have in charge the leadership of community, and affect the fates of nations and peoples!
