Hadji Bujar Spahiu
Bujar Spahiu was born on February 26, 1976, in Kukës.
After completing his 8-year elementary education at the “Lidhja e Prizrenit” School in Kolesjan, he became part of the first group of students sent by the Muslim Community of Albania to Turkey in 1992.
In 1996, he graduated from the Beykoz Madrasa in Istanbul, Turkey.
He then completed his undergraduate and postgraduate theological studies at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, in 2003, specializing in Tafsir (Qur’anic interpretation).
Bujar Spahiu has had a long-standing contribution to the Muslim Community of Albania. He served as Director of the Department of Education at the Muslim Community of Albania (KMSH) from 2006 to 2009, and from 2009 to 2019 he held the position of Deputy Chairman of the institution. Since 2019, he has been elected Chairman of the Muslim Community of Albania.
Bujar Spahiu has participated in and represented the Muslim Community at many important meetings, various events, and national and international conferences and symposiums.
He has also been involved in teaching in the Department of Islamic Sciences at Bedër University and in the madrasas of the Muslim Community of Albania in his field of specialization.
Spahiu is married and has two children, a son and a daughter.
