Round table “The challenge of trafficking in Albania and the commitment of religious beliefs”

On October 29, 2020, a round table was held in Tirana entitled “The challenge of trafficking in Albania and the commitment of religious beliefs against trafficking”, organized by Caritas in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Interreligious Council of Albania.

The panel moderated by Mrs. Ariela Mitri was opened with a greeting from Mons. George Frendo, Chairman of the Interreligious Council of Albania and at the same time Chairman of the Episcopal Conference of Albania. Then referred Dr. Genti Kruja - Secretary General of the Interreligious Council and Head of the Department of Islamic Sciences at Bedër University, Mrs. Mimoza Qyra from the Office of the National Coordinator - Ministry of Interior, Mrs. Alma Tandilli - Director of the State Agency for Child Protection, Mrs. Marjana Meshi - Director of the Shelter for Victims of Trafficking, and Sister Alma Zogu from the Shelter “Rozalba”.

This panel was attended by representatives from the US Embassy, as well as members of the Department of Women and the Department of Youth in the Interreligious Council of Albania, who discussed and talked with the panelists about the topic of this roundtable, emphasizing the cooperation of all factors in the protection of victims and vulnerable groups of trafficking of human beings.
